These dark patches have come up on my cheeks and forehead since i entered 6th month. I dont want to use any random cream without checking. Anyone dealt with this, did anything actually help?
Mine got better just by being strict with sunscreen and covering up in the sun. I avoided fancy creams since many fairness type products arent safe in pregnancy. Please dont use any strong cream without asking your doctor, some ingredients are a no during these months.
Its caused by hormones plus sun exposure, so daily sunscreen is the main thing you can do safely now. Most treatments are best started after delivery and while you're not breastfeeding. A quick word with a dermatologist who knows you're pregnant is the safest route.
I felt so conscious about those dark patches on my cheeks, they came in my 5th month. My gynac told me its from pregnancy hormones and usually fades after delivery, which honestly relieved me. Sunscreen and a wide hat became my best friends, sun made it worse.
I had it bad on my forehead and it honestly faded quite a bit on its own a few months after delivery. So dont panic. During pregnancy I just stuck to sunscreen and a mild moisturiser, kept it simple.
Try not to worry too much, this pregnancy mask as they call it usually lightens on its own after the baby comes. For now just protect your skin from the sun and be gentle with it. If it really bothers you, a dermat can suggest pregnancy safe options.
