I think I have a urine infection because there is burning and discomfort. I am pregnant so I am scared to take any medicine on my own and will call doctor. Has anyone dealt with infection while pregnant?
Beta, for a small thing like mild itching some warm water cleaning helps and loose cotton clothes. But anything with fever, burning, or smell please dont wait, show the doctor. In our time we ignored these and it caused trouble.
Depends what kind of infection na. For prevention drink lots of water, keep clean and dry, dont hold pee. But once it starts only doctor should decide treatment, because not all medicines are safe in pregnancy.
Honestly the safest route is your gynac will figure out which infection it is and give the right pregnancy-safe antibiotic. Some infections if left can affect baby, so dont delay. Hydration and hygiene help but treatment is doctor's call.
Infection during pregnancy is not something to manage on ur own, pls. I had a UTI in my 6th month and tried to ignore it, ended up worse. Go to ur gynac, they give pregnancy-safe medicines. Dont self medicate at all.
If ur sugar runs high like mine did, infections come more easily, especially UTI and yeast ones. Keeping sugar in control really helped me get fewer infections. And ofcourse take whatever the gynac prescribes, dont skip.
