I've been reading a lot about pregnancy and baby development. Is it possible to detect autism in the baby while still pregnant? What kind of tests are there?
Beta, you cannot detect autism while the baby is in the womb. Just focus on eating good home-cooked food, listen to calming music, and keep your mind happy. Don't stress your head with such thoughts right now, everything will be fine.
Oh, don't worry about all this right now! You cannot detect autism during pregnancy anyway, so just enjoy your food. I am currently busy craving spicy pani puri and hot gulab jamun, let's just feed our babies good food and stay happy!
There is absolutely no standard prenatal test that can diagnose autism during pregnancy. If you are worried because of a family history, please sit down with your gynac and discuss genetic screening options like NIPT, but don't Google randomly.
No test can find that out while they are still cooking inside, trust me! I'm in my third trimester, completely exhausted, and honestly, we just have to wait and see how they grow up. Let's just focus on surviving these last few weeks of heartburn first, haha!
I am in my second trimester and actually looked this up last week! From what I read, there's no way to detect autism during pregnancy because it's a developmental condition diagnosed much later around age 2. Did your doctor mention any specific genetic tests, or are you just curious like me?
Actually, you can't detect autism before birth. I had thyroid issues and had to do a lot of scans, and my doctor clearly told me developmental things like autism only show up after 1 or 2 years. Keep attending your regular doctor appointments to ensure baby's overall growth.
