My doc said for pcos the blood test and an early ultrasound are best since the cycle is unpredictable. Home kits work too but timing them is tricky without a clear period. Get a beta hcg if you suspect it.
With pcos periods are irregular so missing one is not a reliable sign, that confused me a lot. I just used a home kit and then confirmed with a blood test. Honestly a beta hcg blood test is the most dependable for us pcos girls.
