How to differentiate pms cramps and pregnancy cramps?
We are trying this month and now im getting cramps but i cant tell if its just my period coming or something else. They feel kinda similar to me. How do u know the difference?
My gynac explained that pregnancy cramps happen due to implantation or uterus stretching and are usually on one side. PMS cramps are due to prostaglandins and affect the whole lower abdomen. A late period is the only real differentiator.
Honestly, they feel so similar that even my doctor said it's hard to tell without a test. If your cramps are severe or accompanied by spotting, just call your hospital coordinator and check. It's better than guessing!
They feel very similar, but pregnancy cramps are often milder. While waiting to find out, make sure you stay hydrated and eat balanced meals. Keeping your body nourished is always good, whatever the result.
Let's be practical: you cannot accurately tell them apart just by feeling. Pregnancy cramps might feel more like a light stretching, but only a home test on your missed period date is going to give you the real answer.
PMS cramps usually get worse and then periods start, whereas pregnancy cramps are milder and feel like a dull pull. But honestly, stop overanalyzing every twinge. Just wait for your period date and take a test.
Ugh, both feel like your uterus is doing a workout! But pregnancy cramps are usually milder and come and go. Right now in my 3rd trimester, I miss those tiny cramps, haha, so enjoy the peace while it lasts!
