I keep reading kegels are good but i honestly dont know if im doing them right. Currently 6 months along. Can someone explain how to actually do them properly?
Its always best to ask your gynac or a prenatal physiotherapy expert to show you the right way to do Kegels. You want to make sure you aren't holding your breath or squeezing your tummy muscles instead. Safety first, so check with your doctor once.
When I was at my parents' place, my mother encouraged me to practice these pelvic exercises daily to keep the muscles strong. Just sit comfortably, tighten the muscles of your private area, hold gently, and breathe normally.
Even though I ended up having a C-section, doing Kegels during pregnancy really helped me with bladder control and pelvic strength during my postpartum recovery. Just gently squeeze your pelvic floor muscles as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine, hold for 5 seconds, and release.
Think of it like you are trying to hold in pee while stuck in a terrible traffic jam, haha! Just squeeze those muscles, hold for a few seconds, and relax. You can do them while watching TV or sitting anywhere.
With twins putting pressure on my bladder, Kegels were my absolute survival tool! Squeeze, hold, and release—you can do them anywhere and nobody will even know. It really helps prevent those accidental sneezes, if you know what I mean!
