My mom got me a big packet of badam and keeps saying khao baccha ke liye accha hai. But i dont know whether to soak them or eat dry, how many in a day etc. How do u all have your almonds?
Beta, always soak 5-6 almonds in water overnight, peel the skin in the morning and eat them on an empty stomach. This is very good for the baby's brain and removes the 'garmi' from badam.
I always recommend soaking almonds overnight and peeling the skin, as it makes them easier to digest. It’s an age-old warm habit that actually works wonders during pregnancy!
My nutritionist at the hospital recommended eating 6-8 soaked and peeled almonds daily during the first trimester. Definitely double-check with your hospital dietician for your personal plan.
Don't buy expensive fancy almond powders, just soak normal badam overnight, peel them in the morning, and have them with your morning milk. Simple, healthy, and cheap.
This is so helpful, I’m planning to conceive and will start eating soaked almonds daily too. It seems like a very easy and healthy habit to build early on.
Since I had GD, almonds were my go-to healthy snack because they don't spike blood sugar levels. Eating them soaked and peeled is best, but avoid the salted or fried market ones.
