Honestly, broccoli can be a bit boring, but you can mix it with potatoes or make a nice paratha stuffing out of it. Just steam it, mash it, and add regular ghar ke masale. My kids still eat it this way!
When I was at my parents' house, my mother used to make delicious broccoli and carrot stir-fry with a tiny bit of ghee and cumin. It was so comforting and light on the stomach. Eating it warm was the best feeling.
My doc specifically told me that broccoli is great for iron and calcium but it must be fully cooked. Raw broccoli can have bacteria or cause extreme gas during pregnancy. I always boiled it properly and added it to stir-fries.
Make sure you steam or sauté it thoroughly, please don't eat it raw in salads. Pregnancy immunity is low, so hygiene is key. Adding a pinch of black pepper and lemon makes it taste good and helps with absorption too.
Broccoli soup with a little cheese is just amazing! 🥦 I also loved putting steamed broccoli in my pasta. Just wash it really nicely in warm water before cooking to get all the dirt out!
My husband and I are trying to conceive, and I recently started adding broccoli to our salads. I usually steam it lightly so it doesn't lose nutrients. It's supposed to be very good for folic acid, right?
I used to toss chopped broccoli with some garlic and olive oil in a pan. It felt like a fancy cafe meal but was super healthy. Kept my digestion smooth and gave me good energy throughout my journey.
