How to eat healthy during pregnancy without gaining weight?
Im in my 5th month and everyone keeps saying eat for two, but honestly i dont want to put on too much weight na. I want baby to get full nutrition but still stay in shape. How are you all managing your diet?
When I was staying at mummy's house, she used to give me fresh seasonal fruits and roasted makhana whenever I got hungry. Simple ghar ka khana is best, don't worry too much about gaining weight as long as the baby is healthy.
Actually weight gain is normal but you can avoid empty calories easily. I just stopped buying bakery biscuits and replaced them with roasted chana and curd, it's very pocket friendly and works.
Trust me your body is doing a beautiful thing right now by growing a life. Focus on nourishing yourself rather than the scale, those extra kgs will melt away when you are running after your little one.
Please focus on low glycemic index foods like oats, whole wheat, and lots of salad. If you have any sugar issues, doctor will guide you, but simple home cooked food with less white rice helped me keep my weight in check.
Mere ghar pe my MIL and mummy both insisted on putting pure ghee on everything to make baby strong, haha. But I told them my gynac said limit the extra oil and ghee, so we compromised on lots of green veggies and dal.
I am also in my 2nd trimester and honestly I feel so hungry all the time. I'm trying to eat dry fruits but sometimes I just want pizza, is everyone else also struggling to keep weight under control?
Honestly at this stage in my 3rd semister I am just tired of walking to the kitchen, so my weight is automatically controlled lol. Just eat small portions throughout the day, it helps with heartburn too.
Every pregnancy is different, so please check with your gynac first before cutting down on anything. They will track your weight gain and tell you exactly what nutrient you need.
Based on my experience, milk supply needs a lot of energy later, so don't restrict your food now. Focus on wholesome things like ragi, coconut water, and nuts instead of thinking about weight.
