My feet have started swelling by evening and someone told me to keep legs raised. But how high and for how long actually? Whats the right way to do it without straining my back.
Just delivered last month and this was my routine, legs up on pillows every evening. It genuinely helped the puffy ankles a lot. Side lying with a pillow under the legs at night was also comfy.
I kept a small footstool under my desk and a couple of pillows on the sofa at home. Even 15 minutes with legs up after a long day really reduced the evening swelling. Doesnt need to be fancy, just above heart level if you can.
Elevating helps for normal swelling, but if your legs swell suddenly or one leg is more swollen and painful, please get it checked. Mine needed a doctor's look once. Better to be careful with leg stuff in pregnancy.
