How to feel the heartbeat of the baby during pregnancy?
Im 5 months and so curious to feel my baby's heartbeat at home. Is there a way to feel it by placing hand on pet or do i need some device? Heard it on scan and now i just want that feeling daily haha.
Oh, that's such a sweet thought! Like wanting to taste the first mango of the season, you just want to feel that little flutter. But honestly, you can't really feel the actual heartbeat from the outside. What you might feel later, around 18-20 weeks, is the baby's movements, which feels like little flutters or kicks. For the actual heartbeat, we need a Doppler at the doc's or an ultrasound, which is a magical experience!
Hey, I totally get why you'd want to feel that! It's super exciting. But honestly, you can't actually *feel* the baby's heartbeat with your hand on your belly. That's something only a doctor can detect with a special device called a Doppler, or during an ultrasound scan. What you'll start feeling later is the baby's movements, like little flutters, which is also amazing! Don't stress too much if you can't feel it directly.
You can't feel the baby's actual heartbeat directly with your hand on your belly. It's not like feeling your own pulse. The baby's heart is very small and deep inside. Your doctor will use a Doppler at your appointments, usually from 10-12 weeks, to let you hear it. Later, around 18-20 weeks, you'll start feeling the baby move and kick, which is a wonderful feeling. That's how you'll connect with your baby's activity.
Haha, trust me, if we could just feel it, I'd have my hand glued to my belly 24/7! 😂 But no, you can't actually feel the heartbeat with your hand. That's doctor magic with a Doppler or an ultrasound scan. What you *will* feel eventually are those adorable little flutters and kicks, which are almost as good. Now, if only I could feel my baby sleeping through the night like that!
See, you can't really feel the heartbeat with your hand, that's a common misconception. For that, you need medical equipment. Your doctor will use a Doppler at your regular checkups, usually starting from around 10-12 weeks, which is a standard part of the prenatal visits. Then you'll also hear it during your ultrasound scans, which are necessary for proper monitoring. So don't worry about trying to feel it yourself, just rely on your doctor's tests. These are covered in your package most times.
Oh, I remember how badly I wanted to connect with my baby, especially when I was throwing up all day! But actually feeling the heartbeat with your hand isn't possible. The baby is too tiny and cushioned inside. You'll hear it with a Doppler at the doctor's office, or see it on an ultrasound. Later, you'll start feeling those beautiful little flutters and kicks, which is a different kind of reassurance. Hang in there!
That's a very sweet desire to feel your baby's heartbeat. However, you cannot feel the actual heartbeat by just touching your tummy. The heartbeat is very faint and deep inside. Your gynecologist will use a special device called a Doppler during your check-ups, usually after 10-12 weeks, to let you hear it. This is a medical check and not something you can do at home. Focus on regular check-ups and a healthy diet as advised by your doctor to keep your baby well.
