My doctor explained they usually count from the first day of your last period, not from conception. So if you know that date the gynac can tell you the week, and a dating scan also confirms it accurately, especially if your cycles are irregular.
I was so confused about this too! My cycles were irregular so the app gave a wrong week. The dating scan finally cleared it up, so if you are unsure pls get that done, it really helped me.
Easiest way, note the first day of your last period and tell your doctor. From there she calculates the weeks. The early ultrasound also gives an exact dating, so dont rely only on home counting.
I just entered my last period date into a pregnancy app and it gave me the week and due date instantly. But I still cross checked with my gynac at the first visit because the scan is more accurate. Both together worked nicely for me.
