How to find out when baby was conceived?

My periods were always irregular so im a bit confused about the dates. Doc gave me a due date from the scan but i still wonder when it actually happened. how do u all figure out the exact conceiving time?

My doctor calculated it from my last period date and confirmed with the early scan, which dates the pregnancy quite accurately. Conception is usually around 2 weeks after your last period started. The dating scan is the most reliable way to know.

So they count from the last period and not the actual day? That confused me at first. The scan sorts it out then I guess.
