I'm worried about my post-pregnancy body. What are some safe and effective ways to get back into shape after delivery, without compromising my health or breastfeeding?
I'm in my 8th month now and constantly thinking about how I'll lose all this weight postpartum! Did you guys start exercising right away or wait for a few months? I'm honestly so confused about when it's safe to start.
Please be very careful before starting any core workouts or heavy exercises, especially if you had a C-section or complications like diastasis recti. I had severe back pain after birth and my doctor told me to only do physiotherapist-guided exercises. Always ask your gynac first!
For me, I only started with short daily walks around my colony after the first 3 months, and slowly cut down on heavy sweets. It took me almost a year to feel like myself again, so I'd say just give your body some time to heal naturally.
My weight loss was very slow because of my postpartum thyroid levels, so I had to get regular blood tests done to keep my dose correct. Don't rush into heavy diets or workouts without checking your hormone levels with your doctor first.
Getting back in shape? Honestly, right now my only workout is running behind my baby on zero sleep and lifting diaper bags! Don't stress about the weight right away, just focus on surviving these first few crazy months.
