I dont drink much milk yaar, never liked the taste. Now in 2nd trimester everyone keeps saying calcium calcium and im worried im not getting enough from food. What all do u guys eat for it?
Actually, our bodies need around 1000mg of calcium daily during pregnancy. My gynac told me that food alone sometimes isn't enough, so taking the prescribed calcium-D3 supplements daily is very important. Also add ragi, paneer, and sesame seeds to your diet.
Look, simply relying on milk won't do the trick. You have to take the calcium tablets your doctor gave you, no excuses. Eat ragi rotis and a bowl of dahi daily, it's that simple.
Don't stress too much, beta. Just make sure u are having two glasses of milk every day, or thick curd with lunch. If u don't like milk, ask your doctor for a tasty chewable calcium tablet, everything will be fine.
I had thyroid issues during pregnancy, so my doctor monitored all my mineral levels very closely. Definitely get your blood tests done and show the reports to your gynac. They will give you the exact calcium dosage you need based on your thyroid levels.
Please focus on your calcium intake right now, it is so crucial. I neglected it a bit and felt quite weak after my C-section. My doctor told me that bone healing and recovery take longer if your calcium levels are low, so take your supplements regularly.
