We are planning to adopt and i really want to breastfeed the baby. Is it even possible to produce milk if im not pregnant? Anyone here who has done this pls share.
My cousin induced milk for her adopted baby with a lactation specialist's help, it took time and patience. Family suggested all kinds of things but she only trusted the doctor's plan. Best to see one.
It can be done in some cases with the right guidance, even pumping regularly plays a part I read. But every body is different so let a professional set it up for u, that's the gentle and safe way.
If u mean inducing lactation without being pregnant, like for an adopted baby, it is possible but only under a doctor or lactation expert. Pls dont follow random home tricks for this one, it involves hormones.
Honestly this is something only a doctor should guide. I know some women induce lactation for adoption etc but it needs proper medical supervision, na. I wouldnt try anything on my own.
Better to ask a gynac or lactation consultant directly. Sometimes milk without pregnancy can also be a sign of a hormone issue, so getting checked is the safe thing rather than trying stuff yourself.
