My legs especially the calves pain so much by evening and at night i get these cramps that wake me up. Im in my 7th month now. What do you all do for relief, any home tricks that actually helped?
Beta a warm oil massage on the legs in the evening does wonders, we always did this at home. Soaking feet in warm water also relaxes them. If the pain is sharp, one sided or with swelling though, do show the doctor.
Leg pain and cramps were my constant companions, esp at night. Keeping my legs slightly raised on a pillow and a gentle calf stretch before bed helped a lot. Stay hydrated too, dehydration made my cramps worse.
Sitting all day at work made my legs ache, so I started getting up every hour for a quick walk and put my feet up during breaks. Comfortable flat shoes helped a lot too. Small changes but they really reduced the pain.
I read that low calcium or magnesium can cause leg cramps in pregnancy, so I asked my doctor and she adjusted things. Light walking and stretching also helped my circulation. Worth checking your diet and supplements with your gynac.
Most leg pain in pregnancy is normal muscle stuff, but just be alert, if one leg becomes swollen, red, warm or painful in one spot, please get it checked quickly. For the normal achy kind, rest and gentle stretching usually help.
