How to get rid of swelling in legs during pregnancy?
My feet and ankles have started puffing up by evening, especially after standing in the kitchen. Im in my third tri and the swelling is really uncomfortable now. What worked for u all to get some relief?
Mild swelling is normal, but please watch out if it comes on suddenly, is in your face or hands, or with headache or blurred vision, that can be a BP issue. I had high BP so my doctor monitored my swelling closely. If it seems sudden or severe, call your gynac.
Sitting all day at work made my feet swell. What worked was taking short walks every hour, putting my feet up under the desk, and cutting down salty food. Slip on comfy chappals instead of tight shoes. Small changes really help during the day.
Light movement helped me most, short walks and gentle ankle rotations to keep blood flowing, all approved by my doctor. Elevating legs after and staying hydrated made a big difference. Don't sit or stand too long in one position.
Beta paani thoda zyada piyo and legs ko thoda upar rakh ke aaram karo. A gentle warm soak for the feet feels nice too. But agar achanak bahut zyada soojan aaye ya sar dard ho to turant doctor ko dikhana, ignore mat karna.
It's such a common thing in the later months, don't worry too much. Rest with your feet raised, avoid too much salt and keep moving a little. Just keep an eye on it and mention it at your next checkup so your doctor stays in the loop.
Keep your legs up on a pillow when resting, drink plenty of water and don't stand too long at a stretch. Wearing loose footwear helped me. Mild swelling in legs and feet is common, mine reduced a lot once I started elevating them at night.
