My gums have become so puffy and they bleed a little when i brush, started around 4th month. It's a bit scary honestly, never had this before pregnancy. Did anyone face this and what helped you?
I squeezed in a quick dental cleaning during pregnancy and it really helped. Tell the dentist you are pregnant so they keep it safe. Meanwhile rinse with salt water, takes a minute.
Warm salt water rinses helped soothe my gums a lot. A soft brush and gentle brushing made a difference too. But if they bleed a lot or hurt, please see a dentist.
My gynac said swollen gums are common because of the hormones and called it pregnancy gingivitis. She told me to brush gently, floss and rinse with warm salt water. She also said a dental check up during pregnancy is safe and good.
