My dadi says old people could tell pregnancy just by checking the pulse before tests existed. Sounds interesting na. Does anyone actually know how this works or is it just a tale?
My grandmother believed in the pulse method and would press near my wrist. It was sweet but not accurate at all. I trusted the home test in the end and so should u, much more reliable na.
This pulse checking thing is just a myth yaar, u cant confirm pregnancy by feeling ur wrist. Heart rate changes a little in pregnancy but that means nothing on its own. Just use a home test, its cheap and actually tells u.
I asked my doctor about this once out of curiosity. She laughed and said yes the pulse rate goes up slightly in pregnancy but it cant be used to detect it, way too many other reasons raise the pulse. Only hCG test confirms it she said.
In olden days the dais used to claim they could tell by the pulse near the navel, my mother used to mention it. But honestly it was never reliable beta. Now we have proper tests, please use those instead of guessing by pulse.
