My last scan showed my afi is on the lower side and now im a little tensed. Im in my third trimester. Doc said keep hydrated but anyone been through this, did it go up for you?
My AFI dropped suddenly in the 9th month, which is why my doctor decided on an emergency C-section for the baby's safety. While drinking water helps, please monitor baby movements closely and go to the hospital if you feel anything unusual.
When my levels were slightly low, my mummy used to make sure I drank 3-4 liters of water and fresh juices throughout the day. Having family around kept me relaxed, which also helps. But please keep your gynac in the loop always.
Beta, drink plenty of water and coconut water daily, it helps a lot. But amniotic fluid level is very important for the baby, so keep checking with your doctor regularly. Don't ignore it.
My doctor explained that maternal hydration directly impacts amniotic fluid. They recommended drinking at least 3-4 liters of water daily and resting on the left side to improve blood flow to the placenta. If it still doesn't increase, your gynac might suggest IV fluids, so keep them updated.
Ghar pe mummy and saasji used to keep giving me fresh lassi, coconut water, and lemon water to keep my fluids up. But my gynac also monitored it every week. Do keep drinking fluids but don't skip your scans.
Hydration is the absolute key to maintaining good AFI levels. Try to drink coconut water, buttermilk, and plain water constantly. However, if the AFI is too low, your doctor might need to give you L-arginine sachets or other treatments, so follow their advice closely.
