How to increase baby weight during 9th month of pregnancy?
Last scan my doctor said baby's weight is slightly on the lower side and im a little tense about it. Im in my 9th month now so not much time left. What foods can i add to help baby gain weight in these last weeks? pls suggest.
Elders at home kept feeding me ghee, milk and dry fruit laddoos in the last month, said it helps baby. I had it in moderation. But trust your scan and what your doctor says about baby's weight, dont go only by old sayings.
Eat small frequent meals with protein, that's the trick in the 9th month when stomach feels full fast. Milk, eggs, paneer, fruits. But honestly baby weight is also genetics and the placenta, so dont stress eat. Let your gynac monitor it.
If your scan shows baby is on the smaller side, the gynac is the right person to plan a diet, sometimes they add supplements too. Generally protein rich foods, milk and nuts help. Don't self plan a 'weight gain' diet without checking with her.
My doc said in the last month focus on protein and good fats, not just eating more. She suggested milk, paneer, eggs, dals, nuts and dry fruits. But she warned not to overeat junk thinking it adds baby weight, it adds yours instead. Follow her diet chart if she gave one.
I overthought baby weight so much in my last month, kept googling. My gynac finally said relax, baby is fine, just eat balanced and well. Protein and milk daily helped me feel I was doing something useful. Please dont panic like I did.
Careful with this, more food doesnt always equal healthy baby weight, especially watch sugar. I had GD so I focused on protein and the right carbs, not extra sweets. Definitely take your doctor's diet advice for the last month.
