Beta in our days we gave beetroot, pomegranate and dates daily for blood. Cooking in an iron kadhai also helps a little. But please dont stop the iron tablets the doctor gave, food and tablet both together.
My doctor told me to take iron with vitamin C and away from calcium and tea for better absorption. She also adjusted my iron dose when hb stayed low. So follow your gynac's supplement, food alone may not be enough.
Eat iron rich food like palak, beetroot, dates, jaggery and dal, and take the iron tablets your doctor gives. Have vitamin C like nimbu or amla with iron food, it absorbs better. Avoid tea right after meals, it blocks iron.
