Im in third trimester and barely sleeping at night. Either the back pain or just tossing and turning till 3am. So tired during the day now. What helped you actually fall asleep?
Half my sleeplessness was my mind racing with thoughts honestly. Writing things down before bed and some slow breathing calmed me. Also keeping a fixed sleep time helped. If your mind wont switch off, you are really not alone in this.
Oh the irony, your body makes a human and then refuses to let you sleep haha. What sort of works for me, a pillow between the knees, sleeping on left side, and no phone scrolling in bed. Still wake up 5 times to pee but what to do.
Get a good pregnancy pillow or just stack normal pillows to support your belly and back, makes a huge difference. Cut screens an hour before bed and have your dinner a bit early so acidity doesnt keep you up. Warm milk before bed helped me too.
A gentle evening walk and some safe prenatal stretches really tired my body in a good way and helped me sleep. My doctor okayed light yoga so I did a bit of breathing before bed. Check with yours before starting anything new though.
Beta a glass of warm milk with a pinch of haldi at night used to settle us nicely. Light walk after dinner and a calm dark room help. But if sleep is badly disturbed for many days, do mention to your doctor, dont take any sleep medicine on your own.
