My fasting sugar was slightly high and doctor asked me to watch diet till next review. I feel hungry often and then get confused what to eat. Anyone managing sugar levels during pregnancy?
Honestly home cooked simple food does the job, no fancy diet needed. More dal sabzi roti, less mithai and outside food. And do the sugar tests on time, they're important and not very costly.
My doctor's main advice was portion control and avoiding refined carbs, white rice and maida in big amounts. More fibre, dal, veggies, protein. And regular monitoring if ur at risk. Walking after eating was suggested too.
I had GD so I learnt this the hard way. Small frequent meals instead of big ones, pair carbs with protein, and cut sugary drinks and sweets. A short walk after meals really helped my numbers. But follow ur doctor and dietician's plan, every case differs.
Eat balanced, dont skip meals and dont stuff urself either. Cut down on sweets and packaged juices. If u have GD or risk, your doc will set up monitoring, just stick to it sincerely.
A gentle walk after meals genuinely keeps sugar from spiking, my gynac okayed it for me. Plus eating slow and avoiding sweets on empty stomach. Keep movement light and doctor approved though.
