In my scan report there is estimated baby weight but I dont understand if it is accurate. My family keeps asking baby weight like I should know exact. How do doctors check it?
My gynac explained the sonologist measures the head, tummy and thigh bone on the scan and the machine calculates an estimated weight. She said its an estimate with some margin, not exact, so dont panic if it seems small or big.
Its mainly from the ultrasound yaar. The scan estimates the baby weight, you cant really know it from outside. Mine showed it from the growth scans in the later months.
Only the scan can tell roughly, dear. And remember its just an estimate. As long as your doctor says baby is growing well, the exact number isnt something to lose sleep over.
The growth scans give the estimated baby weight, usually they start mentioning it more in the third trimester. The apps show average weights for each week too which is fun to compare, but your scan number is the real one.
I keep asking my doc this every scan haha. They tell the estimated weight on the ultrasound report. Did anyone elses estimate turn out a bit off from the actual birth weight? mine i keep wondering about.
