My periods are usually irregular so i honestly have no idea when this happened. Doc gave me a due date from the scan but i keep wondering how they calculate when it actually started. Anyone with irregular cycles who figured this out?
I was so worried I'd get the dates wrong because my periods were a bit irregular. The scan sorted it out though. Did anyone else's scan date differ a little from the period calculation?
I put my last period date into a pregnancy app and it gave me weeks and an approx due date instantly. Handy for a rough idea, but the early ultrasound is what really nails it down.
Doctors usually count from the first day of your last period (LMP) to estimate weeks and due date. But the early ultrasound dating scan is the most accurate, my gynac said the first scan confirms it best. Note your last period date for the visit.
Keep a note of your last period's first date, thats what the doctor uses to start counting. The dating scan in early weeks then fine tunes it. Honestly the scan is the reliable one.
