I know my last period date but I still get confused converting it into days and weeks. Every app shows pregnancy age from LMP and not from relation date. How do you calculate it simply?
If your periods are regular, count from the first day of the last period. But for those of us with PCOS and irregular cycles, that date method is unreliable, so the dating ultrasound is the real answer. Let your doctor fix the weeks with a scan.
I was so confused by this in the start too, kept thinking it counts from when we conceived. Turns out they count from last period date. The first scan sorted out my exact weeks. Did anyone elses dates change a bit after the scan? Mine did by a few days.
Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last menstrual period, not from conception. So note that date and your gynac counts weeks from there. The early ultrasound gives the most accurate dating though, especially if your cycles are irregular.
Easiest way, count from the first day of your last period, doctors calculate it from there in weeks not days. I just put my last period date in a pregnancy app and it told me the week and due date instantly. The dating scan later confirms it more precisely.
