Im 36 weeks and getting close so this is on my mind a lot. How do u actually tell if its the water breaking and not just normal discharge or a little leak? First baby so im a bit clueless and want to be ready for the hospital.
Mine started as a small trickle that kept coming and I wasnt sure at first. I called the hospital and they told me to come in. Ended up with a C section, but the leaking was my first sign. Better to check than ignore.
Please dont guess this one, any continuous watery leak needs the doctor to check immediately. Once water breaks you should be at the hospital. When in doubt, go in and let them confirm.
For me it was a sudden gush of fluid that I couldnt control, very different from pee. Some women just get a slow trickle though. If you feel any leaking, call your gynac and head in, dont wait.
