I put my last period date into a pregnancy app and it tracked the week for me automatically. The early dating scan confirmed it. Between the two I always knew exactly where I was.
Count from the first day of your last period, that is how weeks are measured. Your scan report also writes the gestational age clearly. Easiest is to just ask your doctor at each visit, they note it down.
