My baby is 5 months now and the lower belly pooch near my c section scar is just not going. I cant do heavy workout yet because of the cut. What worked for you mommas, pls share.
Dont rush. After c section the cut needs proper healing first. Once doc says ok, start with walking and light core work, plus eat home cooked balanced food and stay hydrated. Crash diets while feeding baby are a bad idea.
Once your gynac gives the green signal post c section, easy walking is the safest start, then maybe some postnatal yoga. Avoid heavy crunches early because the abs and scar need time. Ask your doctor before starting any of it though.
My recovery was slow because I had some healing issues, so I will just say please get your doctor to check the scar before any exercise. Some women feel a pulling sensation and push too hard. Let the doc guide your timeline.
One thing that really helped me was breastfeeding actually, it burns extra calories and the tummy slowly reduced. Just eat well so your milk stays good. Dont starve yourself trying to get flat fast.
After my c section I was so impatient to lose the tummy but honestly the first few months are about healing, not gym. I waited till my doctor cleared me around 3 months, then started gentle walks. The belly does come down slowly, give yourself time yaar.
Realistically with a newborn you wont get much workout time, so I focused on small things, walking the baby in evening, taking stairs, eating less fried stuff. Slow and steady. The belly took me almost a year to feel normal again, totally okay.
Be kind to your body, it just did something huge. The belly will reduce with healing, good food and gentle movement once you are cleared. Pls dont compare with those instagram quick recovery posts.
