My BMI was already on the higher side before i conceived and now im a bit worried about gaining too much. My gynac mentioned keeping weight in check but i dont really know what's safe to do while pregnant. Anyone here who was overweight and managed it well?
Pls dont try to lose weight on ur own during pregnancy, this needs ur doctor to guide. I was on the heavier side and my gynac gave me a proper plan to just control gain, not actually reduce. Self dieting can be risky for baby.
The aim in pregnancy is usually managing weight gain, not weight loss, unless ur doctor specifically says so. Best is to meet a gynac or even a dietician who handles pregnancy. They will tell u safe calories n activity for ur case.
Dont starve or crash diet, thats a no during pregnancy. What worked for me was eating clean home food, more veggies n dal, less rice and sweets, and a daily walk. The doctor watched my numbers every visit.
I was advised not to focus on losing but on not gaining too much extra. With doc's okay I started slow walks and prenatal yoga, plus cut down on fried n sugary stuff. Movement helped me feel lighter even if scale didnt drop.
You dont need fancy diet plans yaar. Simple ghar ka khana, controlled portions, walking in the evening is free and works. But do tell ur gynac u want to manage weight, they sometimes check sugar and BP more closely if ur heavy.
