My bp was slightly on the higher side at my last checkup and gynac asked me to keep an eye on it. Im a little tense about it now. What do u all do to keep it in control?
I had bp issues in my pregnancy so I will say this seriously, dont try to manage it on ur own. Keep regular checkups, monitor it as the doctor says, and watch ur salt. If u get bad headaches, swelling or blurry vision, call ur doctor immediately, dont wait.
My gynac told me to cut down on salt and processed food, stay hydrated, walk daily if allowed and not skip meals. She also had me check bp at regular intervals. Whatever ur reading, keep her updated, never adjust any bp medicine yourself.
Less salt, less stress, enough sleep and regular monitoring, thats the basic mantra. I kept a home bp machine and noted readings for my doctor. But please, bp in pregnancy is not something to take lightly, keep ur gynac in the loop always.
Take it easy dear, stress and overwork push bp up more than we realise. Eat home food with less salt, rest well and keep ur appointments. And do get it checked regularly, dont guess, the doctor watching it is the safest route.
Gentle daily walks and some deep breathing kept mine steady, but I only did it because my doctor cleared me. Stress really spikes bp so I tried to rest properly too. Just dont start any heavy workout without asking ur gynac first.
