im in my second trimester and my last report showed hb on the lower side, gynac wasnt too happy. i want to bring it up naturally with food along with whatever she gives. what worked for u ladies to keep ur hemoglobin up?
My doctor said iron from food alone is rarely enough in pregnancy so the supplement is important. She told me have it with citrus, avoid calcium and tea around the same time. Also recheck hb each trimester to track it. If it drops a lot they decide further.
Beta in our time we used to give gud and roasted chana, beetroot, anar juice. These help naturally. But do also take whatever iron the doctor gives, dont depend only on ghar ke nuskhe for this.
My amma made me drink dates milk and eat lots of greens. Add a squeeze of lemon to your dal, it really helps iron absorb. And please take the iron tablet your gynac prescribed along with all this.
Honestly with my busy schedule I just made sure to never miss the iron tablet and kept dry dates and roasted chana in my bag for snacking. Small consistent things worked better than fancy diets for me.
I had to balance my sugar so I was careful, but for hemoglobin I focused on palak, methi, dates in limit and the prescribed iron tabs. Beetroot juice helped me too. Just keep checking your hb in routine reports.
Take your iron tablets regularly, dont skip them, thats the main thing. Plus eat dates, jaggery, spinach, beetroot and have vitamin C like lemon or amla with meals so iron absorbs better. Avoid tea right after food, it blocks iron.
