My gynac took out a measuring tape on my tummy last visit and i didnt fully get what she was checking. Im 24 weeks. I want to understand what this fundal height thing actually tells about baby. Can someone explain in simple words?
It's really something the doctor does, not something to measure yourself accurately at home. They use it as a simple growth check. If you're curious just ask them to show you next visit.
My doctor measured from the top of the pubic bone to the top of the uterus with a tape, in centimetres. She said after about 20 weeks the number roughly matches your weeks. It's just a quick check at each visit.
