First trimester and i literally cant stand the smell of anything cooking, even my fav foods make me nauseous now. Im worried im not eating enough for the baby because of this. How did u all manage, any tips that actually worked?
Yaar dont stress about eating perfect right now. Eat what your body says yes to, even if its weird combos. This aversion thing usually settles by second trimester, hang in there.
Beta this is very common in early months. A little ginger water or some nimbu pani helped many in our family with the sick feeling. Eat in small portions and dont skip totally, baby manages on what you can take.
Try keeping a few easy options ready so you dont stand in front of the fridge feeling sick. Cold things, sour fruits, bland carbs worked when nothing else did. If you literally cant eat anything for days, do mention it to your gynac.
Oh i lived through this, couldnt even smell onions cooking. What helped me was eating cold or plain food, less smell means less aversion. Eat whatever you can keep down, even if its just toast and curd, those weeks pass i promise.
Dont force the foods you hate, just swap them. If dal makes you sick get protein from paneer or eggs instead. I kept dry snacks at my desk and ate small bits often, full meals were impossible in those days.
I felt so guilty when i couldnt eat healthy stuff i had planned. But honestly it gets better. I just ate what appealed to me, mostly khichdi and fruit, and let go of the pressure. Be kind to yourself in this phase.
