I read a lot of stuff online and now im anxious about whether anything I do can affect the baby that way. First pregnancy so my mind goes everywhere. Is there actually anything in our control during these months?
Honestly there's no proven way to prevent autism, it's largely genetic and not something a mother causes. The best you can do is general healthy pregnancy care, folic acid, regular check ups and avoiding harmful exposures. Please dont blame yourself or fall for fear based claims online.
Sweetheart, please dont carry this worry, there's nothing you did or can do to cause or prevent it. Just take good care of yourself and your baby. Trust your doctor and let go of the fear, you're doing your best.
I asked my gynac something similar and she said no diet or supplement prevents autism, the research just doesnt support that. What helps overall baby health is taking your prenatal vitamins, avoiding alcohol and smoking and staying healthy. Beyond that, a lot is simply out of our control.
