How to prevent cervix from opening during pregnancy?
My gynac said my cervix length is a little on the shorter side and im honestly so scared now. Im 19 weeks and just want to do everything right to keep things safe till full term. Any mommas who went through this, what did your doctor suggest?
Take it easy beta. There isnt some trick to keep it closed, your body and your doctor handle that part. You just rest well, avoid overexertion and go for every appointment, ok?
This is not something u can really manage at home yaar. I had a weak cervix in my second pregnancy and my gynac picked it up on scan early. Please dont try home stuff for this, just go and let the doctor check, sometimes they put a small stitch (cerclage) if needed.
Mostly doctors advise to avoid heavy lifting, too much standing and rest more if they suspect any issue. But the real decision comes from your gynac after scan. Dont stress without reason, plenty women with this get full term babies with proper care.
I had this same worry around my 5th month and asked my doc. She said unless there is a reason like previous issue, most cervix stay fine on their own. Did anyone here actually get told they have this problem? Curious how it was managed.
I understand the fear behind this question, I really do. After my loss my doctor watched my cervix very closely the next time and it helped so much. Please just stay in close touch with your gynac, that is the safest thing.
Honestly the only proper way is regular checkups where they measure cervical length on ultrasound. If u have a history of early opening tell your doctor clearly so they monitor. Dont rely on anything off the internet for something this serious.
