How to prevent cleft lip and palate during pregnancy?
Saw something about this online and now its stuck in my head. Im only in early weeks and want to do whatever i can to keep baby healthy. Is there anything in particular that helps lower the risk?
I used to worry about all these things constantly honestly. My gynac told me eating well and folic acid is what I can do, and the scans will catch most things. That calmed me a lot, dont stress yourself sick na.
Take your folic acid regularly and go for the scans on time, that is the realistic answer. Your doctor will check for these in the anomaly scan. The rest is genetics which we cant fully control.
My gynac stressed folic acid before and during early pregnancy, she said it lowers many such risks. Avoiding smoking and alcohol matters too. But honestly some of it is not in our control, so just do the basics well and dont blame yourself.
