This is my first baby and im 33, so honestly this fear stays in my mind a lot. My gynac mentioned some screening tests but i still wanted to hear from others. Is there anything you did or watched out for?
My doctor explained the NT scan around 11 to 13 weeks plus blood markers give a risk assessment. NIPT is a more accurate blood test if you want. None of these prevent it, they just screen, so its about being informed early.
I understand the worry, I was anxious about everything too. Just do all the screening scans your gynac advises and try not to blame yourself, its nobody's fault. Lean on your doctor for the right tests.
Honestly Down syndrome isnt something you can prevent with food or habits, its a chromosomal thing. What you can do is the screening tests like the NT scan and the double or NIPT test that your gynac recommends. They help detect, not prevent, so please follow the doctor's testing schedule.
