My gums have started bleeding a bit when i brush, didnt happen before pregnancy. Im in my 5th month now. Heard pregnancy can mess up gums so wanted to know how to take care before it gets worse. Any tips?
Simple stuff works, soft brush, regular flossing, salt water rinse, all cheap. One dental cleaning in the middle months isnt expensive and saves bigger problems later. I planned mine along with a regular checkup.
Soft toothbrush, brush morning and night, rinse after meals, dont skip flossing. My gums bled both pregnancies, totally normal hormonal thing. If it gets bad or painful, see a dentist, they handle pregnant patients all the time.
Mild salt water gargle helped my swollen gums and amma always recommended it. But for proper care, a dentist visit is best, they can clean safely in pregnancy. Dont ignore bleeding gums, get it checked once.
I read pregnancy gingivitis is super common. What helped me, switching to a softer brush, warm salt water rinse, and a dentist checkup. My app reminded me morning sickness acid can harm teeth so I rinsed with water after vomiting instead of brushing right away.
My gynac warned me gums get more sensitive and bleed in pregnancy due to hormones, so she said brush twice gently with a soft brush and floss daily. I also did a dental cleanup which the dentist said is safe in 2nd trimester. Bleeding gums are common but worth telling your dentist.
