My hair fall has gone crazy lately, finding strands all over the bathroom. Im in 5th month and dont remember it being this bad before. Anything that actually helped you reduce it?
First, make sure your iron and protein are good, hair fall is often from that. Oil your scalp gently, dont tie tight, use a mild shampoo. Some shedding from hormones is normal though. If its a lot, get your iron and thyroid checked with your gynac.
Beta warm oil massage two times a week is very good, coconut or almond oil. Eat proper food, methi and green veggies help. Dont wash with very hot water. But if hair is falling in clumps, get your blood checked, dont just depend on oil.
I felt so upset seeing hair in my comb during pregnancy. What helped me was eating better, gentle oiling and not stressing about it which actually makes it worse. A lot of it is hormones and it settled down for me. Hang in there.
Honestly you dont need fancy expensive products. Simple coconut oil massage, a balanced thali with dal, eggs and greens, and your regular pregnancy vitamins did the job for me. If its severe, a basic iron and thyroid test is cheap and worth it.
Mine turned out to be thyroid related, so please get that checked if your hair fall is heavy. Once my thyroid was managed it improved a lot. Apart from that, eat protein and iron rich food and dont skip your prenatal vitamins.
