Im in my 7th month and by evening my feet get so puffy that my chappals dont even fit properly. Sitting whole day at work doesnt help i think. Koi tips to reduce this swelling? thoda uncomfortable ho raha hai.
I can only tell u what worked for me ghar pe. I stopped eating pickles and heavy salt items in the evening, and started sleeping on my left side. It actually reduced my swelling within a few days.
Welcome to the Shrek feet club! 🤣 Seriously though, it's just your body holding onto water like a camel. Keep drinking water to fight water retention (sounds weird but works) and enjoy resting while u can.
Ha! I couldn't even fit into my husband's largest slippers by the end of my pregnancy. Honestly, don't worry about how ugly they look, it goes away within a week of delivery. Just put your feet up and make everyone else do the chores!
I used to panic every time I looked at my swollen ankles, thinking it was preeclampsia or something. Honestly, just keeping my feet on three pillows at night helped so much. But please keep checking your BP at home just to keep your mind at peace.
With both my kids, my feet became huge in the 8th month. My practical advice is to stop standing in the kitchen for hours, delegate work! Drink coconut water and avoid processed salty foods, it reduces water retention.
Actually, swelling or edema happens due to extra fluids and pressure from the uterus. My doctor advised me to reduce sodium/salt in my diet and drink lots of water to flush out toxins. But if the swelling is sudden or in just one leg, contact your gynac immediately to rule out high BP.
Working a 9-to-5 job with swollen feet is a nightmare, trust me. I kept a small plastic stool under my office desk to keep my legs up all day. Also, compression socks were a total lifesaver during long sitting hours.
I had severe swelling due to thyroid fluctuations during my pregnancy, so I had to be very careful. Definitely get your thyroid and blood pressure checked regularly by your doctor. Keeping feet elevated on pillows while sleeping did help me a lot.
My gynac allowed light walking and some gentle prenatal yoga, which really helped my blood circulation. Just make sure to get green light from your doc before trying any exercises. Oh, and keep moving your ankles in circles when sitting!
Sweetie, it is very common in the second and third trimester so don't worry. Whenever you sit, try to keep a stool under your feet to elevate them. Also, tell your husband to give you a nice, gentle warm oil massage before sleeping, it works wonders.
Oh those potato feet! 🥔 I used to soak my feet in warm water with rock salt every evening, it felt amazing. Try not to stand for too long and wear super comfy slippers! 💕
Sitting cross-legged is the worst thing you can do right now, so stop that first. Keep walking a little bit around the house and don't wear tight socks. It is normal body fluid, just manage it with elevation and rest.
