my friend recently had a tubal pregnancy and it was such a scary time for her, now im honestly a bit worried as we are about to start trying. is there anything one can actually do to lower the chance of this? just want to be careful.
I had an ectopic and trust me there is no sure way to fully prevent it. What helps is early scans, treating any infection promptly and not ignoring pelvic pain. Pls get an early ultrasound once you test positive, that catches it early.
Main thing is early detection, not really prevention. If you have risk factors like past tubal issues, tell your doctor upfront so they monitor you closely from the start. Early ultrasound is key.
Honestly its not fully in our hands. I just made sure to treat any infection early and went for the first scan on time. Dont scare yourself too much, but do see a doctor early when you conceive.
My doc explained tubal pregnancy is more common if there was earlier infection, PID or tube surgery. You cant always prevent it but managing infections, avoiding smoking and getting an early scan helps a lot. Worth a proper chat with your gynac if you are worried.
