Im 5 months along and my weight gain has been really slow, doc mentioned the baby needs me to put on a bit more. With all the nausea i struggle to eat much. How did u manage to gain healthy weight?
Eat more frequently rather than huge meals. Add dry fruits, full fat milk, peanut butter, eggs, ghee. I gained slow in my first pregnancy and doctor adjusted my diet. Get your gynac to confirm baby growth is on track too.
You dont need expensive supplements for this. Banana, peanuts, dates, homemade ghee, milk, eggs, all cheap and good for weight. I gained healthily on simple ghar ka khana. Just ask doctor at your checkups if growth is fine.
Amma fed me rice with ghee, dal, curd and nuts daily and I gained nicely. Home cooked wholesome food works best da. But always let the doctor track the baby's weight, that's the real thing to watch.
When I couldnt keep food down weight gain was so hard. Once sickness eased I added small calorie dense snacks all day, like a handful of nuts, milkshakes, cheese. Talk to your doctor if you're really not gaining, mine guided me well.
My doctor said focus on nutritious calories not junk. She told me to add things like nuts, ghee in dal, paneer, milk, banana and dates. Healthy weight gain is gradual, dont rush it. She also kept checking baby's growth at scans which mattered more than my number on the scale.
