My reports came and hb is on the lower side, doctor wants me to bring it up. Im 20 weeks. Apart from the tablets, what foods actually helped you ladies? pls share what worked.
My doc told me to pair iron foods with vitamin C so it absorbs better, like dates with a bit of lemon. She also gave me iron tablets which I took with the right gap from milk and tea. Diet plus the prescribed tablets worked for me.
Cheap iron sources are gud, dates, jaggery, spinach, peanuts. No need for costly supplements beyond what doctor gives. Just repeat the hemoglobin test to track if its rising.
If hb is really low dont just rely on food yaar, that takes time. My gynac watched mine closely and adjusted the iron dose. Please follow ur doctor's plan for this.
My amma made me drink beetroot and pomegranate juice and added more greens like keerai. It helped along with my doctor's iron tablets. Home food supports but the tablet really pushed my numbers up.
