My feet and ankles have started swelling quite a bit, especially by evening. It's becoming very uncomfortable. What are some things I can do to reduce this edema during pregnancy?
With twins, my feet were twice the size of a normal person's, I swear! Sitting with my feet in warm water with rock salt was my daily ritual, and always wear comfortable slip-ons. Try not to stand for too long, ask for help, you have a solid excuse anyway!
I had swelling even after my C-section delivery, which was quite frustrating during recovery. My doctor told me to keep walking gently in the house and to keep my feet elevated whenever I sat down to nurse. It takes some time for the fluids to balance out, so please be patient with your body.
Oh God, my feet look like fat potatoes right now in my 3rd trimester! I find that keeping them elevated on two pillows while lying down and drinking lots of water helps thoda bahut. But honestly, sometimes only resting can save you, so just put your feet up and make your husband do the chores!
This is just a temporary phase of pregnancy, and your body is doing beautiful work. Keep your feet elevated, drink coconut water, and take rest. Stay positive, keep chanting your prayers, and everything will be fine.
I had terrible swelling in my feet during my last month. What worked best for me was cutting down on salty snacks and doing light ankle rotations while sitting. Thankfully, most of it went away within a week of delivery, so hang in there, it's temporary!
I know how scary it feels when your feet suddenly swell up, it made me panic so much during my pregnancy. Please know that mild edema is very common, but just to be safe, get your BP checked to rule out any issue. Try to rest and elevate your legs, you are doing great.
