How to reduce heart palpitations during pregnancy?
Lately my heart starts racing out of nowhere, even when im just lying down. im 28 weeks and it kind of scares me everytime it happens. I'll mention it to my doc next visit but wanted to know if others felt this and what helped you calm it down.
First of all, that fluttery feeling can be so scary, I totally get it. Mine got worse when I was anxious, so slow deep breathing and resting really helped. Still, do mention it at your next checkup just to be safe.
I got these palpitations a lot, mostly when I skipped meals or got dehydrated. Eating small frequent meals and drinking enough water helped me a lot. But if it feels very strong or comes with breathlessness, please call your gynac.
My doctor said palpitations are common because blood volume increases in pregnancy. She told me to cut down caffeine, stay hydrated and rest on my left side. But she also said any chest pain or dizziness with it needs to be checked immediately.
