My bp was on the higher side at my last checkup and the doctor told me to monitor it at home. Im 30 weeks and honestly a bit scared after reading stuff online. Apart from medicines what helps to keep it in control? what worked for u all.
Please take high bp in pregnancy seriously, I had it and it needs proper doctor monitoring. Mine wanted regular checks and rest. Don't try to manage it just at home, if your readings are high call your gynac soon, its important for you and baby.
My doctor focused on rest, cutting down salt, staying calm and regular bp checks. She also watched for headaches, swelling or vision changes as warning signs. If you have any of those along with high bp, go in immediately, dont wait for the next appointment.
I know seeing a high number is scary, I'd feel my heart race which made it worse. Resting, lying on my left side and slow breathing helped me settle a bit. But please keep your doctor in the loop, they need to track this properly.
Stress at work was spiking mine honestly. I had to actually slow down, take breaks, reduce salty outside food and sleep better. Got a bp machine for home so I could check without running to the clinic. Doctor guided me on the readings.
Stay calm first, getting tense only pushes it higher. Rest well, eat less salt, and most importantly keep showing your readings to your doctor. This is one thing where you really shouldn't manage alone.
