its been about 5 months since my delivery and my hips have widened so much, none of my old jeans fit. is this something that goes back with time or do i need to actually work on it? pls help.
Once your doctor clears you, brisk walking and some targeted lower body exercises and yoga help over time. There's no spot reduction trick honestly, overall fitness slims everything gradually. Start gentle.
The hips widen during pregnancy and it does take time to settle, please don't be hard on yourself. Mine slowly came back over months with regular walking and eating sensibly. Your body did an incredible thing, be patient with it.
Yaar give it time, the body literally made room for a baby. Walk daily, eat home food, and don't stress over the mirror. It improves slowly, I promise.
After my C-section I couldn't rush into anything, so I waited for my doctor's okay before any exercise. Even then I started really gentle. The hips eased back slowly with walking. Healing first, always.
Some of it goes back on its own as hormones settle, but the widening can be partly permanent and that's okay. Walking, light strength once cleared, and good food help tone the area. Don't expect your pre-pregnancy body overnight.
